2ge+her & Their Boy Band Twins
In a section from YM, the magazine compare the members of MTV's faux boyband 2GE+HER with their "real-life" boyband counterparts.
Jerry O'Keefe
"The Heartthrob" -- Evan Farmer
Legendary Line: "I heart you"
Boy-Band Twin: With their muscled, lean bods and winning smiles,
Jerry and *Nsync's JC Chasez are practically clones. Plus, both
have that down-to-earth, nice-guy vibe.
Role Models: "My fave boy-band song is *Nsync's 'Bye, Bye,
Bye.' It's not your typical love song- it's up-tempo and angry.
Mickey Parke "The Rebel"-- Alex Solowitz
Legendary Line: "Mickey P. don't dress like no star-spangled
Elvis."
Boy-Band Twin: With his funky style (tatoos, big jewelry), wild
ways, and uncensored speech, Mickey screams AJ McLean from
Backstreet Boys. Both live by their own rules.
Role Models: "I've met Howie and AJ from BSB, and they're
great. I've never met any of the *Nsync guys; I'm sure they're
cool, too. But 98* are my favorites. I think they're the best
singers."
Jason "Q.T." MCKINGHT "The Cute One"--
Michael Cuccione
Legendary Line: "Q.T. is a girl-crazy 15-year-old who just
happens to have a terminal illness," explains Michael.
Boy-Band Twin: [take a wild guess] He's the adorable baby of the
group who makes girls swoon, just like Justin Timberlake of *Nsync.
Intentionally or not, these baby-faced babes often steal the
spotlight.
Role Model: "I respect all of the boy bands. As many of them
as there are, they've all maintained their individuality. And
they all work really hard. People may think it's all fun and
games, but there's a lot of sacrifice that goes into performing."
Doug Linus "The Older Brother Figure"-- Kevin Farley
Legendary Line: "I used to be in this heavy metal band,
Pegasus, but we couldn't afford instruments, so we had to sing a
cappella."
Boy-Band Twin: Like Nick Lachey of 98*, Doug is a caring older
brother who acts as the band watch dog. But unlike Nick, "I'm
a fat, balding fella," says Kevin. "I don;t look the
part!"
Role Model: "For my audition, I sang 'I Want It That Way' by
the BSB. It worked!"
Chad Linus "The Shy One"-- Noah Bastion
Legendary Line: "I plan to make a butt-load of money with
this."
Boy-Band Twin: With his aw-shucks sweetness and blond locks, Chad
definitely resembles Lance Bass of *Nsync. Only difference: Lance
is a brainy babe, while Chad's anything but.
Role Model: "I really dig boy bands. I loved BSB's Millenium
and now I like *Nsync." He also hopes to follow in *Nsync's
footsteps by joining up with Britney Spears. "I'm madly in
love with her," he gushes. "She's just so beautiful and
nice."
YM - big thanx to Suzanne!
Action Figures
The last two days have been heaven. In the midst of a world tour to promote their record-breaking second album, No Strings Attached, the boys of *NSync--Lance Bass, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick, and Justin Timberlake--got some much-needed rest on the French Riviera during the Cannes Film Festival. "It was the time of my life," Bass tells Seventeen on the day of his return to the States, where *NSync is set to perform in Atlanta. "We stayed in a mansion right on the water, and spent our days on a yacht. We were spoiled."
They also hosted
an invitation-only party on the beach, to which they arrived
fashionably late. With his hair in cornrows, Timberlake was
barely recognizable. Chasez was the only guy with a date, and
Fatone brought his brother, Steven, who's shooting a documentary
on the band.
While in Cannes, *NSync let festival guests in on a little secret--they're
bound for the big screen. "What better place to tell the
world we're interested in doing a film?" asks Bass. The boys
already have a production company putting up the reported $45
million budget, and they're now looking at scripts and possible
directors. Bass says the film will be nothing like Spice World or
anything The Beatles ever did. "It'll be more along the
lines of The Bodyguard--Whitney {Houston} played a totally
different person, but the movie had a musical element," he
says.
The Orlando fivesome is anything but camera-shy. And the new
video for "It's Gonna Be Me," which has the guys
looking like figures in those Duracell battery commercials,
familiarized them with special effects. "it was all plaint
and glue, and we were in makeup for 28 hours straight," Bass
recalls.
The *NSync movie probably won't require plastic wigs, but the
boys aren't going to be let off the hook too easily. "It's
definitely going to be a comedy, but with lots of action in it .
And we plan to do our own stunts," reveals Bass. "We're
guys, so we have to make a guy movie."
